Bozeman is a charming and historic town. It offers excellent shopping and dining for many styles and taste. You can grab a burger, enjoy fine dining, or get an ice cream cone and catch up on some relaxation. Shopping includes many outdoor retailers, clothing boutiques, bookstores, and much more! Below are a few of our favorite things to do while in and around Bozeman.
The Montana Grizzly Encounter is a Grizzly Bear Rescue & Education Sanctuary in Bozeman, Montana. Founded in 2004, MGE provides a spacious and natural home for rescued grizzlies. At the same time it offers the public a place to come and learn about grizzly bears as they watch the majestic animals “up close” in a beautiful mountain setting. This was one of the neatest things we did while we were in Montana. We learned so much from the staff and watching Brutus and Bella was a real joy. To know what they came from and to now see them flourishing warms the heart. Bella is quite the ham too when it comes to pictures. She put on quite the show for us playing and swimming.
Museum of the Rockies is a museum in Bozeman, Montana. Originally affiliated with Montana State University in Bozeman, and now, also, the Smithsonian Institution, the museum is known for its paleontological collections, although these are not its sole focus. The Museum of the Rockies houses the largest collection of dinosaur remains in the United States, possessing the largest Tyrannosaurus skull ever discovered. The cost to get in for us was $14.50/pp which includes the museum and a short film in the Planetarium, This place will be a huge hit with the kids and maybe preteens. We enjoyed it, but I am glad we went on a rainy day and didn’t plan our entire day around the museum. It took us about 1.5 hours to see the museum and watch the movie.
A few of the shops that we stopped in were Heyday, The Montana Scene & Girls Outdoors.
Heyday is a lifestyle boutique located in the heart of beautiful downtown Bozeman, offers a fresh approach to everyday celebrations and gift giving. The candle selection is unlike anything I have seen or smelled. Just amazing scents. very unique items if you are looking for that perfect gift.
The Montana Scene is a place for visitors and locals to find high-quality, unique, Montana-made products. Seriously amazing things in this shop, loved it.
Girls Outdoors has gear and apparel fit for women. Bozeman’s only store exclusively for the active woman. If you need it for the outdoors, this place has it.
Starky’s Authentic – We went here for one day for a late lunch, not too crowded and great service. They have homemade food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They specialize in authentic old world style delicatessen favorites for lunch featuring Montana’s Best Reuben, Gyros, Philly Cheese Steaks, and a variety of soups made from scratch and fresh big house salads. We all got something different. The Reuben was huge and some of the best fries we have had.
Burger Bob’s – A local favorite with arguably the best burger in town! This place provides quality food products from the best local distributors in the Gallatin Valley! I love that they get their food from local distributors, everything was so fresh and delicious. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere is extremely laid back. Not to mention, I LOVE tater tots and they had some of the best I have ever had. Hands down one of the best burgers I’ve had.
