Summer Treats Less Than $3 For The Dogs Or The Kids

With the heat caving in on us this summer, I wanted to make the pups a frozen treat they could have after spending some time outside. We received an AKC magazine in the mail and it had this super easy and fun recipe that takes no time to do so I wanted to share it with you. The best part is that they can be eaten by us or our furry friends!

What you will need:

  1. 1 Peeled Mango
  2. 1 Mashed Banana
  3. 1 1/2 cups of Coconut water
  4. Food processor
  5. Baking tray or Popsicle tray

*Note: if you are making more than 4-5 popsicles I recommend doubling the measurements.

First, I placed a cutting “board” under all of my items to keep the kitchen as spotless as it was after I cleaned this morning 😉 I say “board” because they are almost like thick paper, we buy them at Dollar Tree for messy recipes like this and they are incredible. If you don’t have one, you are missing out!

Next, peel the mango and mash up the banana. I did this in a separate bowl because our food processor is mainly for smaller items, I didn’t want to overload it. At first, it will seem that the 1 1/2 cups of coconut water is too much but it ends up being perfect! The steps to follow were actually quite simple. Place the peeled, chopped mango, mashed banana, and measured coconut water into the food processor and click GO! After it becomes a puree, pour into your baking tray or popsicle maker and TADA! There will still be smaller chunks of mango left but I like a little fresh fruit in my pops and I knew the pups would like it too. My pops took about 2 hours to freeze and my pups LOVED them! I hope you enjoy them too!
